Citroen DS5 1.6T THP163 – Stage4 JCW hybrid turbo

The Citroen DS5 1.6T usually comes with an EGS automatic gearbox and the Euro5 version of THP engines – THP163. It uses the same stock KKK turbo found on THP150 and THP156 at higher boost,  utilises different electronics and an electric oil pump compared to its previous engine versions. The Engine Control Unit is a Bosch MED17.4.2, which uses a Tricore TC1767 microprocessor as its main unit.

Thanks to our home-bred remaptool – FlasherTHP, we can reflash it via OBD. There is no need to remove the ECU and bench it. Etuners FlasherTHP makes it possible for the owner to even have multiple maps or revert to stock when needed.

Upgrade specifications

• 98RON fuel or 95Ron fuel
• Upgraded exhaust
• Upgraded intercooler
• Optional: Upgraded boost pipes (from Forge on this particular car)
• Hybrid turbo with a JCW compressor wheel

Performance results

• Maximum horsepower: 225hp on 95ron / 235hp on 98ron (165hp measured stock), gains 60hp to 70hp based on fuel quality
• Maximum torque: 330Nm (270Nm measured stock), gains 50Nm

In order for the gearbox to be protected, the maximum boost is set at no higher than 1.4 bar, with midrange boost being no more than 1.3 bar.
