Peugeot 207 RC 1.6T Stage4 98RON (hybrid+boubis cams)

There are many ways to make the most power out of a stock 1.6T Prince engine. One of the best is by combining upgraded camshafts and a hybrid turbo, along with an upgraded intake, boost pipes, full exhaust and intercooler. This setup uses 98RON fuel and does not require the use of Water-methanol injection or race fuel. The stock ECU controls boost and the car remains very friendly to drive on a daily basis.

Performance results

One of our main concerns with big or hybrid turbo setups and upgraded camshafts is that the car remains as responsive and driveable as was before, with the stock turbocharger. This is the reason why we did a comparison run on dyno. In the graph shown below the green curves indicate the power and torque with the stock turbo (with ic, exhaust, pipes etc) but before the hybrid+cams upgrade. The red curves show the result after the hybrid+turbo upgrade.

As can be seen on the graph, not only has the engine not lost low end torque, it has gained a lot of power at high rpm. Although the difference between maximum power is 40PS, after 5500rpm the power gains increase a lot, in the hybrid+cams setup’s favour. The difference reaches 80PS at 6500rpm.

    Hi, im sven from the netherlands and i have a peugeot 207 rc too with build engine big hybrid turbo but i am at the limitations of the stock map sensor because it only measures until 2.65 bar absolute pressure.

    I have ordered the map sensor from a peugeot 308 GTI because those can measure up to 3 bar absolute. Could you help me with the map sensor scaling or linearization?

      Sven, sorry to be a party pooper. It gets tricky when you get there! Not only the sensors need to be calibrated, the whole engine model needs to reflect the new sensors installed for everything to work correctly.
