Citroen C4 VTS with a DS3 Racing / 207RC turbocharger and an Etuners Stage3 ECU remap on MAHA LPS3000 dyno

Citroen C4 VTS 1.6T utilises an EP6-DT engine that produces 150bhp at the flywheel. The power increase potential is already good, if one wants to use the stock turbocharger, as it can boost performance up to 210bhp at the flywheel (with an intercooler and full exhaust installed). To get more power over that, a Citroen DS3 Racing / Peugeot 207 RC turbocharger unit can be used instead.

EP6-DTS engines produce 200hp and 175hp respectively on the DS3 Racing and 207 RC. The main reason for that is the larger turbocharger. Thankfully, it is a direct replacement for the EP6-DT turbo, with the only modification needed being the outlet pipe that has a slightly larger diameter. Once it is installed on the car, paired with an upgraded intercooler and a full exhaust the engine can produce over 230bhp at the flywheel.  Even on 97RON it manages to produce immense power gains throughout the rev range.

In order for the engine to produce power properly, it has to be properly maintained. Engine timing must correct, intake valves need to be clean and all engine subsystems must be working very well for the car to remain trouble-free. You can read our THP engine maintenance article for more information on this.

Hi, i wonder if there is a significant wear over time of the engine after this modification or the only difference between EP6-DT and EP6-DTS is really only mentioned turbocharger and diameter of the exhaust? Thank you so much.
