Most TSI122 engines and specially CAX variants can receive the TSI160 turbo kit upgrade. This allows them to produce power like their CAV engine counterparts, without the complexity of needing a supercharger system. This comes at a small sacrifice of torque in the very low rpm range, up to 2500rpm. And a big gain of power at mid and high rpm after that.
In terms of reliability, the engine can withstand the abuse and the turbo is an OEM unit.
Upgrade specifications
- 98RON fuel
- Upgraded intercooler, stock water/air cooler removed
- Upgraded turbo to the one from 1.4 TSI160 engines
- Upgraded exhaust
Performance results
- Maximum flywheel horsepower: 231.4 Hp (measured 130.8hp as stock with intercooler and exhaust and stock turbo), gains 101hp
- Maximum flywheel torque: 353 Nm (measured 217 Nm as stock), gains 125 Nm

Hi! I need help! I installed a k03 in my scirocco 1.4 but I need a remap for my car. can i buy from you? thank you so much
hello, I installed a 1.4 tsi 160 turbo on my 122 hp caxa and I wanted to know if the original turbo pressure sensor should be changed to another? Because beyond a certain pressure my turbo cuts out.
Upgrading the stock map sensor is not required. Your stock motor cannot handle the boost above 1.6bar anyway.
