Toyota Hilux 2.8 diesel 1GD-FTV - Etuners Stage1 ECU remap on DynoDynamics rolling road

Remapping the MY2017 Toyota Hilux 2.8l 1GD-FTV brings solid performance results!

The 1GD-FTV 2.8 liter engine is installed on the new Hilux and Land Cruiser from Toyota. It has 16 valves and a double overhead camshaft design. The compression ratio is 15.6:1.  It comes with a variable nozzle turbocharger (VNT). It generates 177 PS (175 hp; 130 kW) at 3400 rpm, and 450 N·m (332 lbf·ft) of torque at 1400-2600 rpm when mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, depending on target market and emission specifications. For this particular vehicle, the manufacturer claims that the Hilux produces 130kw/177hp and 420 N·m (310 lbf·ft) at the flywheel.

On the dyno its oversized tires had increased drag losses. This equated to 90kw/122hp at the wheels on DynoDynamics. With a custom Stage1 Etuners ECU remap, peak power increased to 107kw/146hp at the wheels. Boost was increased by 3psi to maintain turbo reliability for this daily driven work vehicle.

Upgrade specifications

  • Etuners Stage1 ECU remap for 1GD-FTV

Installing the ECU remap on this brand new Toyota is possible via the car’s OBD port. This modification is a new Engine Control Unit calibration, not a piggiback unit.
