The Opel Astra-J OPC, also known as Vauxhall/Holden Astra VXR, utilises the manufacturer’s newest direct injection turbo engine (SIDI) by General Motors. Its engine codes are A20NFT and A20NHT, type LDK, which is an upgraded version of the LNF Ecotec engine. It is reported by the manufacturer as having 206kw/280bhp at the engine. On our Dyno we saw a best of 170kw/231hp at the wheels from this car.
With completely stock hardware and an Etuners Stage 1 custom remap loaded, power increased to 192kw/261hp at the wheels. A 20wkw gain was maintained through the entire rev range over the stock file. We are looking forward to calibrating it on a stage 2 remap for further gains in the near future!
