HYUNDAI i30N 2.0T MY2019 – Etuners Stage2 98RON + WMI

Mark has set up his i30N for track day use. Wanting more power on the straights he contacted us to discuss options. His original plans were for a front mount intercooler upgrade and a tune.

From our track experience on this platform we suggested leaving the oem intercooler and opting for an XForce Performance Exhaust down pipe and a custom water methanol injection kit .

The water methanol injection allows for consistent power as intake temperatures remain at a level where the ecu does not pull timing. It also increases octane which allows additional ignition timing in the calibration increasing power and engine response.

The factory intercooler has more than enough flow for the stock turbo so it was not required to be upgraded. Intake temperatures on the pre tune dyno run reached 45 deg C producing a best of 176kw @ the wheels.

With the upgraded hardware and WMI installed a custom Etuners ECU file was calibrated resulting in 221kw @ the wheels. Intake temperatures dropping to 22deg C which was 4 deg C below our dyno room ambient temperature.

Focus was placed on improving mid range rpm gains to help with driving the car out of corners. An extra +75 wkw will certainly help!

A huge win for WMI as power numbers were backed up and intake temperatures also tracked over the previous runs.
