Just when we thought that Ecoboost engines could not get any more powerful. Ford put out an additional battery and electric motor to it, creating the most powerful 1 liter in the market: ecoboost with mHEV and 155ps. Very tempted to tune it is what we were. So few cars were sold that it was very difficult to get our hands on one, until this showed up on our dyno. The owner had already upgraded the exhaust with a sports cat and the intake with a cold air intake kit.

On dyno it made 159hp / 262Nm on stock software with upgraded hardware. 4Hp and a little bit of torque more than what the manufacturer is claiming, which makes sense since parts were already upgraded.

We developed a custom #etuners Stage2 ECU remap to add a little bit more power and torque. Since this was already the most powerful stock 1.0 Ecoboost in production the tune was very mindful of tweaking boost, fuel and ignition, to maintain some sanity and reliability in the engine’s operation. With our tune it made 172hp with 283Nm of torque and much better performance throughout the rev range. Power gains are very big specially at high rpm, where the car’s output is now more than 25hp over stock. The combination of both electric and gasoline motors’ output allow for more power and torque via software.
