That is not called a Megane RS by the manufacturer. Its full name is:
Renault Sport Megane Red Bull Racing RB8.
Of the 250 built, only 30 were sold in the UK. The rest were distributed to the rest of the world. It borrows its name from the Formula 1 single-seater with a Renault engine, designed in 2012 by Adrian Newey. Driven by Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel. The Megane was built in 2013 to honor the repeated championships won by the @redbullracing F1 team using Renault engines: 2010,2011,2012,2013.
That is the reason why the color of the car is the same as the single-seater’s: Twilight Blue.
It is a Renault Megane RS Cup with big brakes, a limited-slip differential, close ratio 6speed gearbox, racing suspension, a 2liter cast-iron turbo F4RT engine and 275hp stock on 98 octane fuel. It has different driving modes, selectable by the driver. Tame in city driving but a beast on the track.
Upgrade specifications
It came to us with all the parts that need help already upgraded by its new owner. Upgraded exhaust, upgraded intercooler and piping, Intake kit and 100 RON fuel. With the factory tune, measured in Race driving mode, it produced 299hp (instead of 275 with everything stock on 98RON).
We developed an #etuners Stage2 tune on dyno, on Continental EMS3110 managing the engine.
All driving modes were improved with an emphasis on Race mode. Which also gained crackles.
Performance results
Power rose to 338hp with big gains in torque.
Next stop: hybrid turbo!
