Mini Cooper F56 1.5T – Stage1 98RON
Etuners Stage1 ECU remap adds more power to the new Twinpower BMW 1.5 Turbo engine! By improving the stock fueling, adding a little bit of boost and a little bit of ignition, the result makes a big difference to performance.

Getting the Mini in Dyno mode
Unless you activate dyno mode, you can forget about testing the Mini F56 on dyno. The moment it realises the front wheels are spinning with the rear ones stopped, it will throw a few tons of errors in the gearbox and ABS systems and the car will not work at all.

How to activate dyno mode:
Turn ignition on without starting the car. Wait for all the warning lights on the dashboard to turn themselves off. Click and hold the kilometer reset button for about 15seconds.
A hidden menu will appear. Release the kilometer reset button and click it two times (so that you get to option 3). Click and hold to select. Do the same once more and the car will be in dyno mode until you turn it off. Start the engine!
Removing the ECU from the car
The only way of remapping the F56 MED17 ECU is by removing it and flashing outside the car. Good news is, it is relatively easy to remove the ECU. Here is how we did it!
Remapping the ECU on the bench
A special procedure is required for reading and flashing this MED17 ECU on the bench. First, the ECU password needs to be retrieved. Then the ECU is opened, put into boot mode. The stock file is read. Then the remap is loaded. ECU cover is closed again and it is ready to go back to the car and get tested. Here are a few photos of the whole process:
- 98RON fuel
- Automatic gearbox friendly
- Maximum power: 190 PS (161PS measured stock), gains 29PS
