The new Golf VII GTI comes with the VW’s third generation 2.0TSI EA888 engine. This car in particular had just 10.000km on its dashboard. The owner knew its potential for tuning, so we recommended an upgraded downpipe with a sports cat to improve the flow of exhaust gases. This addition is crucial and ensures turbo longevity and good top rpm range performance. The results were nothing short of amazing: +136 hp and +160Nm of torque, just with a stage 2 ecu remap and a downpipe.
- 98RON fuel
- Etuners Stage 2 ECU remap
- Upgrated downpipe with sports cat
- Maximum power: 336.2 PS @ 5750 RPM (measured 200 PS as stock with the downpipe)
- Maximum torque: 560Nm @ 2500 RPM (measured 400Nm as stock with the downpipe)
For more power on the Golf VII GTI, we strongly recommend upgrading the turbo with one from the Golf 7R. Combining a 7R turbo with an upgraded exhaust and a larger intercooler can bring performance up to 400hp on 98RON fuel. Which is an excellent power result, considering it is a completely bolt on part that is made by VW.
This Gen3 EA888 engine is also installed on the Audi S1 2.0 TSI and tuning it brings very good results too!
